Being from Africa, I’ve never believed that I would ever go on a five day fully guided safari to see wildlife. Initially, this trip was primarily to see Gorillas and Chimpanzees. However, to my surprise, Uganda has so much more to offer, and I had one of the best experiences of my life. Winston Churchill Tours put on a great show, one that I will never forget and one that I will live to tell my friends and friends of friends. From what I’ve seen, they are very good at communicating everything in detail before the trip, and from the moment our Tour guide – Alex picked us up from the airport hotel, till the time that we bid farewell, he was nothing but kind helpful and polite. But what stood out was his passion for what he does and his knowledge of everything related to Uganda, not just the safaris. I highly recommend Winston Churchill Tours and Alex as the best guide when visiting Uganda.

Where to start. I guess by first giving Maria a shout-out – we exchanged about 50 emails before the trip and she was so helpful, accommodating and answered all of our questions and concerns. It was definitely reassuring to have someone like Becky prepare everything for us before our arrival to Entebbe.
We had initially chosen to go to Uganda for the gorillas and Chimpanzes, and then decided to make a whole week out of it and go on the 5 day safari, with luxury accommodation. While our main goal was to see the gorillas, we were amazed by all the sights and experiences throughout our tour – it completely exceeded our expectations. Uganda is such a beautiful country and definitely deserves several days of exploring, I wish we had more time there.
Our tour would not have been what it was if it weren’t for our tour guide Alex He showed such passion for his country and culture, sharing with us fascinating stories about Uganda and its people. He made sure we absolutely maximized every single day of our safari, and really wanted us to have the best experience possible. He really went over and above to make sure we had an amazing time and had everything that we needed throughout the trip.
I would highly recommend Winston Churchill Tours to anyone planning to visit this beautiful country.

Wow, wow, wow!!! I don’t even know where to start. This trip, with Winston churchill tours was mazing!
First off, the company itself:
When booking these types of tours from the US, most will ask that you wire transfer the money or pay the credit card service fee. I got super nervous on this part. After spending 5 days with this company- I now can safely tell people, don’t worry! They are a very reputable company.
Level of service: Our driver, Gaylord, was great! He picked us up right from the airport, had a sign with our name, and took care of us the entire trip. He was educated, spoke English well, was funny and was there to help us with whatever we needed.
Vehicle: We had an older van type of car but we ended up loving it! The back seat was spacious and I even was able to jump in the third row seat and lay down for a bit if I wanted to. The top lifted off for us to see all of the great animals while driving. Our driver cleaned it every night for us and made sure we had fresh bottled water each day.
Animals: HOLY SMOKES… we went in January and we saw so many animals. We did the safari portion, the chimps and the gorillas and all were amazing. I would do the exact same trip again anytime!
Tipping: Don’t forget to tip about $20-$25 (more if you want) per day per person. We gave him the tip at the very end and gave him US dollars. We made sure before leaving the US the bills were newer as they don’t accept older bills.
